after 24 hours and after 48 hours for anaerobes. Complete reports of culture with anaerobic bacteria may take as long as 10 days to 2 weeks after receipt of culture. |

| Minimum Volume: | 0.50 mL (If less than 0.5 mL, the specimen should be inoculated into 1% Casamino acid solution.) |

| Preparation of Patient: | Specimens are collected in the Department of Radiology by a Radiologist according to established protocols of this medical center. |

| Causes for Specimen Rejection: | Improper labeling. Specimen not collected in sterile container. Specimen container must not be contaminated on the outside. Needles must be removed from syringes. Specimens must be delivered to the laboratory within 30 minutes of collection. |
