Avoid use of serum or plasma separator (gel) tubes
    Container / Tube: Red or Green (lithium heparin) Vacutainer® tube
    Minimum Volume: 1 ml
Special Handling or Timing of Specimen Sample MUST be labeled as trough or peak. Test performed at NHRMC lab site only

Trough:

Draw immediately before next dose

Peak:

Draw 30 minutes after completion of infusion
Preparation of Patient: None
Therapeutic Range  

Trough:

0 - 2 mg/dL

Toxic:

>3 mg/dL

Peak:

5 - 10 mg/dL

Toxic:

>12 mg/dL
