Southesatern North Carolina's Firsl Level III NICU

New Hanover's Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital is home to our Level III, 45-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the first of its kind in southeastern North Carolina. Here, premature or critically ill babies - some the size of the palm of your hand - receive technically advanced, lifesaving care aimed at optimizing infant wellness. Our NICU team also encourages developmentally supportive care, where human touch is used to promote a baby's emotional wellness.
