Computer Access
New Hanover Regional Medical Center is working to make wireless internet access available throughout its patient areas. Currently, it is available in the Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital. It will be available throughout the patient tower when the renovation of the floors is complete. The final floors should be renovated and have wireless internet acces by December 2010.
Patient families also have access to computers and the internet through the Southeast Area Health Education Center's Robert M. Fales library at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Families can check email and research medical conditions online and find a variety of traditional publications and print materials ranging from magazines to clinical textbooks.
Use of the lab's computers is open to persons over 16 with a family member hospitalized at New Hanover Regional. Access to the computer lab begins by signing in at the library's reference desk (please specify your family member's name.)
Hours
Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
No food or drinks are allowed in the computer lab or the library at any time.
