Surgery Residency

Surgery Residency

We appreciate your interest in what we believe is an excellent training program for general surgeons. Five years is a long time, but residents will tell you it goes by quickly when you have made the right choice. Your interest in obtaining more information about the Residency in General Surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC is something we would like to encourage. We are proud of our program, our residents, alumni, faculty, medical students and hospital. Residents play a highly valued role in the care of sick patients within NHRMC.

I am sure that you will find much of the information that you would like to review about our educational program, facilities, and people who support the program on our web links. Coastal North Carolina is a great place to work, live, recreate and raise families.

If you need more information, please contact either myself or our program administrator, Deby Van Vliet. We will be happy to answer your questions, direct you to more information, or show you the facility.

Thank you for your interest in our program. We hope our website will facilitate your next most important career decision.

Sincerely,

Thomas V. Clancy, MD, FACS
