Coastal Heart Cares
A support group for patients living with heart disease
Coastal Heart Cares was formed at the request of a cardiac surgery patient and staff members who believe that patients can teach each other many things about life with heart disease.
Meetings will include an education session followed by questions and answers. Then the participants are free to break into groups or visit informally among themselves. The group is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with heart disease. We also invite participants to bring their spouse or significant other since heart disease impacts the family as well as the patient.
Coastal Heart Cares exists to serve its participants. The speakers are chosen based on general needs of the patients. Registration is not required. Snacks will be provided and all people with heart disease are welcome to join us.
For information on this support group or NHMRC Heart Center services, please call 910-343-7773 or 1-800-432-7899.
All sessions are at 7 p.m. in the SEAHEC Auditorium at NHRMC's main campus.
